Symbiotic Lives: Lagomorph and Lupus is a multimedia story focused on anthropomorphic animals living in a constantly evolving world. It's a story about recovery, self acceptance, and how nobody is ever too far gone to change for the better.
The story primarily focuses on the characters Isaac Lovett, a nasty, cruel, and selfish grey wolf, and Jeremiah Pelletier,
a middle aged European rabbit who's a now retired taxidermist.
As the story progresses, readers will be forced to reconcile with the fact that these two, while trying to be better, have done heinous things in their pasts. It's not up to the reader to decide if they don't "deserve redemption," nor is it their decision to demand they continuously repent for their sins.
All you as the reader, and the characters in the story, are able to do is allow them the opportunity to change their behavior.
This comic is rated M for Mature, and you can find a list of broad content warnings here.
Symbiotic Lives takes place in a restorative justice society. Punitive justice, as well as physical jails or other methods of punitive isolation, has been outlawed. Instead, justice is conducted through discussions based in understanding and a desire for helping those who need it. Animals no longer have to work for money to survive, as they all receive food, shelter, and any and all medical care as a basic right. This decision greatly reduced the crime rate, and drastically increased the quality of life for all Animals.
This ever evolving nature of the world is shown in the way the comic is presented, as the way the world looks reflects how the main characters are feeling. If the world is black and white, the characters aren't content with their lives, and as the world gradually gains color, the character's way of life congruently changes for the better.
The comic is primarily done in Procreate, but pages that show Natural Animals (the term for animals as they are in our world) will be depicted as real life watercolor paintings.
